The Skorpion Zinc Project is the worlds largest zinc solvent extraction plant. After much analysis, they determined that the Filtres Philippe Horizontal Vacuum Belt was the product of choice, and commission RPA Process Technologies to provide eight filters.
This picture diary will show the the process of creation, installation, testing, and customer comments.
1997 - Reunion Mining conducted drilling. Solvent extraction difficulties resolved. Filtres Philippe meets with Reunion Mining
1998 - Lab test in Spain with all horizontal belt filter manufacturers
1999 - Filtres Philippe selected for pilot testing
October 1999 - May 2000 - Pilot test at Johannesburg
Confirmation of five belt filters 147 m2 each
2001 - Order given to RPA/Filtres Philippe (RPA/FP) for six horizontal belt filters, with the possibility of two more filters if necessary
